Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well, wherever you are, sitting on your chair and reading this on your screen. I just came back from a week in Turkey. It was nice, not the "best travel of my life" but it was just what I needed : some fresh air, something to kill my belgian boredom and sickness. I have to warn you, I got the flu, the travel flu. And the symptoms are the following:
1) When you have nothing special to think about, you always end up imagining yourself on a trip somewhere around the world.
2) Then, you start to think of the details, and begin elaborating a plan, a budget, searching flights on the internet ... it starts to feel real.
3) You sometimes manage to make it happen, coz you just happen to have enough money. But most of the time you don't and just continue sitting in your chair and dream.
4) When somehow you manage to leave, no matter where you are, you always feel better far away from home. You feel like a kid discovering something new and who's all excited about it. You feel like you can embrace the world, meet new cool people - people who'll be of course cooler than at home.
5) When it's time to get back, from the very first step you lay on the ground at home, you sufocate. Your lungs don't know how to breathe correctly anymore. You start to think of all the things you'll have to catch up with (work, family matters, daily worries, etc.) and there's always the same urge coming up. It starts to grow inside your stomach and rushes up your throat and makes you wanna puke. You just want one thing : jump in another plane no matter what destination, as long as you can escape HOME.
